My story as a designer started when I was a high school yearbook Editor-in-Chief. After college, I worked as a yearbook sales representative for 5 years — teaching photography, layout design, and journalism. One day after listening to feedback about a yearbook design program, I realized I wanted to work on creating digital products and making them better for the people using them.
To learn how to build products, I immersed myself in UX coursework, articles, podcasts, and books. I love working end-to-end on products and prototyping micro-interactions. I enjoy mentoring new designers, and volunteering on projects that benefit underrepresented communities.
Life outside of design: I come from a big Filipino family and originally grew up in Hawaii. In my free time, I love watching competitive cooking shows, playing board games like Settlers of Catan, and babysitting my 5-year old nephew. I volunteer in the community by helping small businesses and family with photography.
